Some retro resto bits, front grill and handbrake

I intend to have the interior stripped out classic racer look, I looked at specialist handbrake manufacturers and they are super expensive. So I stripped everything off the MX5 handbrake and did this.....

I cleaned and masked the mounting bracket and pivot pins and then after I painted the brake I lacquered the bare metal, it looks really good and lightweight retro.

Next is the front grill. When I'm building a kit I always have an eye on cars on the road to see what can be used. The 50/60's cars like the Maserati, Lotus and Ferrari often had a crate grill. A few days ago a Peugeot 407 went passed and voila!

I went up to see a mates Replicar and placed the grill up to his car, its perfect! The filled in end parts you see on the grill will be gone and it will be all crated. £20 brand new on ebay and a silver rattle can. Lovely! The genuine grills are £3400

Not a bad bunch of solutions!
